Still sickly, sadly

I was hoping I'd be feeling all better by today, but alas, I have not yet recovered. I've still got this awful hacking cough that makes my lungs hurt, as well as being all sweaty-clammy skinned, and woozy/light-headed. It sucks, I've missed 3 days of work now. Which makes me feel like a bum or something. I had been expecting that I'd feel well enough today to go back to work, so I feeling disappointed that I ended up having to call in sick.

That whole debacle in Egypt recently has inspired me to re-read The Trouble With Islam by Irshad Manji. Excellent book, but rather sad. It isn't really meant to be sad/depressing, she seems quite optimistic/hopeful throughout the book, but I still come away feeling like these things never really seem to change much or really get all that much better in the end. I read about 180 pages (of 237 pages) yesterday while laid up in bed sick.

I think I shall go make myself some tea now.

It Has Been A While...

Been ages since I posted anything on here, hasn't it?

I had been feeling a little under the weather all week, but then yesterday I was hit with a full-on raging Flu or something & spent the rest of the day/night in a feverish haze. I can't remember the last time I was so sick. I'm starting to feel better now though. Hopefully, I should be feeling well enough to go to work tomorrow.

Finished reading the Court of the Air the other day. It was a really weird book, sort of an epic steam-punk adventure. There were a few elements in the story that really gave me the creeps (the poor armless kings, mostly). I think I would rate it 3.5 out of 5.

I should probably update my goodreads &/or library thing at some point.

An odd thing happened at the bookstore yesterday. There was a guy in the "adult" section, taking photos of the pictures in the porno magazines with his camera. WTF? I kicked him out of the store.

Also, why must people buy used porno?
