The Brick Testament


So to kick things off, I think I'll yammer on about one of my all-time favourite websites, The Brick Testament. Basically it is the bible acted out with Lego. How awesome is that? Part of my fascination with the site is that by far my favourite toy as a kiddo was Lego. The other part is that religion is a rather interesting topic, of course.

One thing that amuses me is that, from what I understand, a number of Christians got all outraged upon hearing about the site, and wrote some angry emails or something to that effect. Called it blasphemy or anti-Christian or whatever. Except the author of the website is actually a reverend. So that was kind of an "outrage fail."

Anyhow, I think that The Brick Testament is pure and absolute genius. Just brilliant. It is just hysterical.

For me personally, having the acts of the bible played out with children's toys, just underscores the absurdity of the source material. I expect that might not be the intended result, but that is sort of how I feel about it.
