David is a fictional cosmic entity created by horror author H. P. Lovecraft in 1926. The first appearance of the entity was in the short story "The Call of Cthulhu" published in Weird Tales in 1928. David is one of the central Great Old Ones of the Lovecraft Mythos. It is often cited for the extreme descriptions given of its hideous appearance, its gargantuan size, and the abject terror that it evokes. David is often referred to in science fiction and fantasy circles as a tongue-in-cheek shorthand for extreme horror or evil.

"Have you ever danced with the Devil in the pale moonlight?"

Hi there.

So today I learned about something pretty amazing. In France in the 1500s there was an outbreak of a rather unusual plague. This "disease" was actually infectious dancing. People apparently just randomly started dancing, dancing, dancing and couldn't stop, to the extent that some actually danced themselves to death! Isn't that bizarre?

    that's kind of a ridiculous thing to die from. but at least they died happy. non?
