Hi!

Today I worked a 9.5 hour shift. Twas only supposed to an 8 hour, but a co-worker of mine called in sick & I was the only one available to cover for her. Not too bad though, it was a nice quiet day at work with only a couple of very busy moments sprinkled in. Its a little extra money in the bank right? Which is always nice.

In the past two days, two books have come in which I have been very very much wanting to read for ages, but as of yet had not acquired. The first was Pride & Prejudice & Zombies by Jane Austen & Seth Graham-Smith, the other was Sweet & Low: A Family Story by Rich Cohen. Pride & Prejudice & Zombies is exactly what it sounds like; The classic Jane Austen novel rewritten to include a zombie apocalypse. So obviously it must be AMAZING! Sweet & Low is a memoir written by the grandson of the guy who invented artificial sweetener. He talks about his eccentric family & their history, the company, artificial sweetener, and last but most certainly not least, the tax evasion & criminal conspiracies & other back-stabbings that apparently went on behind the scenes within the business! Sounds neat to me! I also want to snag, The Suess, The Whole Suess & Nothing But The Suess (a biography of Dr. Suess) but I'm feeling slightly guilty about the number of books I've borrowed from work & somewhat intimidated by the sheer size of my "To Read" pile.

I'm almost finished my current read, which is another memoir: A Brief History of Anxiety [Yours & Mine] by Patricia Pearson. A crime-reporter turned chick-lit writer who is apparently the granddaughter of Lester B. Pearson. Which seems a rather interesting background if you ask me. It's been a pretty good read so far.
