Finally finished The First Human by Ann Gibbons. Twas really good actually. The only aspect in which the book was left wanting is that it didn't focus enough on, or give enough detail about, the origin & evolution of peopleseses. It was pretty much all about the field/practice of paleoanthropology & all these personalities in the field and all the ridiculousness, competitiveness & one-upmanship of it all. Not to sound like I'm complaining, it was all very interesting, almost soap-opera-ish in its dramarama factor, but for a book titled "The First Human" I feel I didn't learn enough about "The First Human" from it. :\Still a great read though, all in all.
(for some reason I keep wanting to refer to the book as The Last Human. I don't know why. )
Tonight I also read Amulet, the first book of the Stonekeeper series by Kazu Kibuishi. Which was fantastic. It was mostly just setting things up & introducing the characters & the rising action & whatever the eff else, but I enjoyed it. I'm seeing lots of potential for the next/future installments. I think books two & three are already out, I'm going to go try tracking them down.
I also procrastinated on my homework a bit more. Oh, how I will regret this tomorrow! I'll blame the alcohol happily swimming through my veins for my shirking of homework duties. FAIL!
